Wrapped Up In: Turbans
Only the fearless need apply! Whether it be humidity or rain that's got your hair wrapped in an elastic band or under a cap, there's a new and fashionable reason to part ways with your usual solution, if only for a season.....Turbans! No longer just for the "mature" crowd, they made a grand entrance onto many runways and fashionistas near and far took to the streets to showcase their fearlessness with heads held high, and turbans in place.
If you dare...I salute you!
P.S. I just had to include this photo of the iconic Sophia Loren because she will always be fabulous, even while donning a head scarf.

Post earthquake.....
Source: tandsdaybook.blogspot.com
In light of the earthquake that hit us East Coasters (and Colorado) yesterday, 8/23/11, I thought I would encourage you to rise everyday with a spirit of gratitude, live selflessly, and not sweat the small stuff. As many of us were reminded (from The Carolina's to Canada) life is short and can change in an instant. So I hope your nerves are back in order and you are doing what us resilient humans are known to do........carry on!

Vegan Super Duper Green Kale Smoothie
I've been on a little bit of a health kick for the past year and a half, however I still like to enjoy some of my favorites from time to time. One thing I get a lot of is green veggie juices. They are healthy and quite tasty if made with enough fruit to sweeten them up, although the look would suggest otherwise. I found this recipe while browsing the website of super-talented celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson. There's always something on there I can't wait to try. I would have assumed this was a thick, tasteless, grass-like concoction had the blog post not said that the smoothie was "Good," not just tolerable, but "Good." So, I tried it and sure enough, it was "Good." The berries, kiwi and pomegranate juice added a nice flavor to it. The big question: Would I make it again? Absolutely!

Love, Chloe
I recently stumbled upon this fragrance and was instantly drawn to it. However, I spent about two weeks trying to decide if I “loved” it or not, only to come to the conclusion that I did. From the soft powdery scent reminiscent of the body powder women once applied with big fluffy puffs (think Elizabeth Taylor), to the ad campaign evoking 70’s glamour, this scent is begging for a spot on my fragrance tray.
The bottle also has a bit of glam with its sophisticated flask look. I love one department store’s description that reads: “This fragrance is inspired by the intimacy of the beauty ritual.”
Notes: orange blossom, pepper, hyacinth, iris, lilac, wisteria, heliotropine, musk, talc, rice powder.
