Everything has a place and it all fits together perfectly. Magnifique!

Airport Chic

As I prepare to board a plane again, I realize more than ever that we don't just pack for vacations anymore; we also pack for the airport, especially with extreme layovers being the norm.  Everyone's attire is on a different mission, however I think most people are doing a pretty good job at looking airport chic these days as they hike from one concourse to the other.

Is your airport attire strictly for comfort or is your look comfy-cute?

Good ol' Peach Cobbler

Even though we're moving towards pies with names like sweet potato and pumpkin, I'm still stuck on the sweetness and yummy goodness of peach pie. Early in the summer I made this one following a recipe by pastry chef Ann Thornton and it was divine. Needless to say, my summer got off to a very sweet start. I should make it again before all of the good organic peaches are gone for the season, if I'm not already too late.

P.S. I have to work on cutting my dough a little more even next time. Also, please excuse the image quality. I'm in the market for a new camera.

New Favorite Thing: Red Ginger Limeade

I will be drinking this tasty and tangy concoction throughout the cold weather months. It'll keep me in a "warm weather" state of mind and the ginger is sure to put a pep in my step.  I secretly put one on a coworker's desk one day (she loves ginger) and within minutes my phone rang with her yelling, "Where did you find this?!! I need more of it!!"

From the Columbia Gorge website...."Tangy limes and double-filtered water, sweetened with health-friendly agave and blushed up with the gorgeous red of blood oranges. To this we’ve added a shot of ginger zing. Sophisticated. Satisfying. Sensational."

Say Something Nice....

With today being the 10th anniversary of 9/11,  I watched tributes and documentaries that made me so proud of the resiliency of our nation and also reiterated the profound sadness of the many lives lost. If you were feeling as emotional as I was, I hope this video makes you smile......it worked for me.

Teal Ribbon

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and every year on the first Friday of September many of us observe "National Wear Teal Day" by wearing a teal item (or nails) to work.  It has already passed this year (Sept. 2), but I hope you'll keep the cause in mind for next year.  I personally hold ovarian cancer awareness near and dear to my heart and truly hope there is a cure for all cancers on the horizon.

Teal is a bit of a funky, edgy color being that it's the birth-child of green and navy blue. So for a little fun and inspiration, I've created a virtual vision board here of all things teal.

It's All White

I really love white clothing. It's feminine, crisp, clean, and in my opinion, looks great on everyone. And now that the Labor Day holiday is here, some of us will sadly bid our white jeans, trousers, dresses, skirts and belts farewell until next year. Others will proudly rock it out well into fall, maybe even year-round. I wonder if one day there will be no talk about when/when not to wear white. Just maybe if the expected torrential rain holds off this week I may give my Theory white trousers or J.Crew white denim one rebellious last run. Remember, whatever you decide it's OK.

So Delicious Coconut Milk

I stopped drinking cow's milk about a year ago and went on a search to find a non-dairy alternative that I could really truly enjoy forever. I'm not allergic to dairy; I just wanted an alternative.  After trying a few non-dairy milks I found some to be just "ok," while others were either too sweet or watered down. But then, in walked So Delicious Coconut Milk! It's absolutely Dee-lish-us! The flavor is just right whether in original or vanilla, so you'll never have to worry about it overpowering your cereal with a heavy coconut flavor. I describe the taste as "smooth with an essence of coconut." Even better, the brand's ice cream is just as amazing and comes in many different flavors. My fav is Cherry Amaretto. If you're looking for a non-dairy milk and not sure where to start, I'd say this was an excellent place.
